I will have to wait until we have company as with my diet, I can't afford to have it in the house for just Tim & me! I am MUCH weaker than he is. Have you ever frozen it? That could be helpful for us.Nancy Stevenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11908053022653157847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-547463582925369801.post-15390968899919769672012-11-30T07:49:16.372-05:002012-11-30T07:49:16.372-05:00This marble cake is on my to-do list!

I do feel as if I am returning to something very familiar, a hub of family history. Thanks for this second comment on this post. I welcome each and every word you write. Very grateful...Adirondack Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09793504716711219804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-547463582925369801.post-80342147143355179472012-11-27T00:32:25.071-05:002012-11-27T00:32:25.071-05:00I'm not sure if it's my increasingly vivid...I'm not sure if it's my increasingly vivid imagination, or my ever shrinking memory, but I really imagined (or forgot) that I'd already commented on your trip down to the City! Either way, I do know I read your blog (and now twice!) and that I have vivid memories of my initial impressions and thoughts about your trip! How I wish I'd been home so I could have helped out in any way possible, but I can imagine the variety of feelings you had Jeannie, from sadness and compassion, to invigoration and joy, and back to shock and even guilt that you were so blessed, but finally to satisfaction, knowing that you and your team from Skidmore had made a difference! I thought about how your trip was a return to your family roots and imagined that in some way it felt spiritual. I reminisced about my magical college years in the 70's in the greatest City in the world, and worried about several of my dear friends from those days that still live on Staten Island and in the Rockaways and in the devastated neighborhood of Red Hook in Brooklyn by the Navy Yards. I realized that I absolutely adore the City that never sleeps, and that I hurt so badly when its incredibly strong and resilient and proud citizens are devastated once again, this time by Sandy and before by 9/11. But I also am not afraid because I have such faith in their indomitable spirit and never say die attitudes. And once again, your blog took me to another place and time and allowed me to feel a range of emotions that are so very New York, and for that I say thank you!Weeznoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-547463582925369801.post-45911660134153729362012-11-26T20:41:57.326-05:002012-11-26T20:41:57.326-05:00I am going to have to try this one Jeannie--and I ...I am going to have to try this one Jeannie--and I just learned how to make buttermilk :-)!
