Ready for her very first project! |
Here's the recipe. Enjoy!
EASY WHITE CAKE
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit
Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans (I line mine with parchment rounds)
Dry ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients:
1/2 cup Crisco shortening
4 egg whites at room temperature
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Place dry ingredients in mixer bowl and combine. Add Crisco, egg whites, milk, and vanilla. Mix at low speed for 1 minute. Scrape bowl. Mix at medium speed for another minute until smooth. Scrape bowl and give one final mix.
Pour batter into pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until cake tests done.

ReplyDeleteSooooo jealous, a RED Kitchen Aid (you know how much I enjoy my kitchen aid for mixing bread dough) -- but you are oh so deserving of the newest model since you put it through all of its paces. Happy to hear it arrived and that you are putting it to use. Cake sounds nice and easy, will have to try it this holiday season when my "kids" are vising me.

The kitchenaidmixerrdotcom really isn't as big as I believed it would certainly be, however it's still heavy duty, and also solid as a rock. I would certainly advise the Artisan series, instead of Craftsmen Deluxe.
